The Nowak Collection Coins Project, which has been running since June 2023 and was funded by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport and the KHM Museumsverband, ended provisionally in August 2024. The team, David Burisch and Kathrin Siegl, under the direction of Klaus Vondrovec, can look back on a successful period. 5,162 artefacts from the Nowak Collection can be accessed via IKMK.

Thanks to funding from the two institutions, the processing of the numismatic part of Heinz Nowak's collection, which comprises several tens of thousands of items, will continue from December 2024. The processing will be carried out by Kathrin Siegl as part of the project ‘Sharing and Showing - From Vienna into the Digital World’.

The aim of this project phase is to document, identify and inventory a further 5,000 coins and make them accessible at the IKMK. We are looking forward to the next 23 months and hope for some exciting discoveries and new insights!
