Project Start: The Coin finds of the Nowak Collection
As part of the funding initiative 'Cultural Heritage Digital' announced by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport, the KHM Museum association, namely the Theatre Museum and the Coin Cabinet, is carrying out the project 'Before the Curtain'.
Today, the inventory, documentation and scientific recording of the coin finds from the Heinz Nowak Collection starts in the Coin Cabinet. This consists of about 40,000 mainly Roman found coins from Austria, all of which can be precisely located. By August 2024, David Burisch, MA, and Dr. Kathrin Siegl will bring the first parts of this great treasure from the Roman past to light and present them here at the ikmk Vienna.
